About How It All Began

American born actor and film star, Texas Battle, went to Cape Town, South Africa for the first time to film a project. During this time he met a group of kids dancing on the side of the pavement on the streets of Camps Bay whilst he was having breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Texas was drawn in by the beat of the drum that accompanied the dance act and went over to them. He realized that they were dancing barefoot on the concrete ground and asked them why this was so. They explained their harsh living conditions,their reason for dancing and how passionate they are about performing to him. Texas was touched by each individual story and sought out to help them. This was how Texas Battle founded the Texas Battle Foundation.

On the 10th of August 2013,Texas Battle went to the township of Langa, the home of the young dancers. There Texas witnessed their living conditions himself and decided to support them financially and to provide along term support system that will better their lives and break the cycle of poverty.
